Review: Chickaboom 88 Palette in Super & Shimmer

Company: Chickaboom Luxuries (a Canadian company!)
Animal Testing: Vegan friendly
Products: Shimmer Palette & Super Palette (click me to see!)
Amount of Product: Both palettes contain 88 different shades, and are all about the size of a nickel.
Price: $30 each

What The Product Claims: MICA first ingredients, no animal oils, and no TALC! Don't be fooled by cheap imitations. Chickaboom's newest and most amazing 88 eyeshadow palette with super blendable and highly pigmented shadows is finally here! The colour payoff is incredible. Whether you are a professional makeup artist or a self-proclaimed fashionista our palettes are designed to help you achieve any look. Smokey and smouldery; dazzlingly dramatic or the natural girl-next-door, Chickaboom b88m palettes take you there!
Not only is $30 for 88 completely different eyeshadow colours amazing, the quality of them is off the charts. Having these two palettes is so wonderful for me, and I am always getting compliments on my makeup, especially when I use the boldest colours. They have everything from matte browns to gold to turquoise and yellows. Any look you could ever imagine you can create with these two palettes.

There isn't much else I can say about these eyeshadows, the colour payoff is amazing, they are very blendable and super easy to work with. I started using these when I first started to become interested in cosmetics and I had a great time playing around with these palettes, and now that I'm more into it and know what I'm looking for, I still love these shadows. I would definitely recommend these to any beginner looking for a cheap palette to experiment with, or even someone just looking for good quality eyeshadows for little money.

Get To The Point...

What's To Love:
-Great colour payoff
-Super blendable
-Great colour selection
-Not tested on animals!
-Awesome idea for everyone from pro to beginner
-Canadian based company

What's To Not:
-It was a tad bit of a hastle to actually get shipped to me, as I wanted to pay with a cheque instead of credit card or through PayPal
-It took over a month to get to my house

Final Thoughts
Amazing product hands down, lots of colours to choose from, you can create any look you can imagine and with ease. Took a while to get to my house, even though they're Canada based and I only live about 4 or 5 provinces away, but in the end it was very worth it. I strongly recommend this to anyone.

Review: MAC Paint Pot

Company: MAC Cosmetics
Animal Testing: Widely known cruelty free company.
Product Name: Paint Pot in Soft Ochre
Amount of Product: 5 g, 0.17 US OZ.
Price: Between $18 & $20
Colour Tested: Soft Ochre (shown in picture)

What The Product Claims:
A highly pigmented eye colour that goes on creamy but dries to an intense, vibrant finish. Long-wearing, colourfast. Creates seamless coverage without weight or caking. Blends smoothly over the lids. Cream based.

I know what you're thinking. "Why didn't you get this in the colour Painterly? Thats the colour everyone has and uses and raves about!" I didn't get this in Painterly because I just felt that Soft Ochre was a colour that suited me better, that's all.

I think this product is fantastic. I can't vouch for the whole "highly pigmented colour" or "vibrant finish" claims, because I've only ever used this soft skin colour, but I have a feeling that this product would for sure live up to this statement.

Very creamy, does not crease ever, absolutely amazing base for eyeshadows or pigments (I love to use this under MAC's pressed pigment eyeshadows, especially in Young Punk). I have yet to apply this under pure glitter for a night out, but Young Punk does have quite a bit of glitter in it already, and it stays put all day. Can be applied with just your finger- which is my preferred method- or a concealer brush. Keeps your shadows on all day long, or can just be used as something to even out your eyelids for a flawless natural look.

I don't feel this product on my eye either, so yes it lives up to it's claim of being weightless and it doesn't cake either, even on those especially hot, humid summer days.

This was one of the first MAC products I ever purchased, and I will continue to re-purchase again and again. I will always use this as one of my most counted on eyeshadow bases, and would highly recommend this to everyone looking for a serious eyeshadow base.

Get To The Point...

What's To Love:
-Creamy
-Smooth
-Not tested on animals!
-Weightless, never cakey
-Doesn't crease
-Great eyeshadow base
-Evens eyelid tone

What's To Not:
-A tad pricey for an eyeshadow base

Final Thoughts

Although it is pricey for an eyeshadow base, this is no ordinary eyeshadow base. It goes above and beyond an average base. It comes in a range of colours to somewhat match a few different skin tones (I have somewhat light, olive skin, I'm an NC30-35 most summers, and NC20-25 most winters). Party all night in this, go dancing, even exercise with this on, and your eyeshadow will still be there by the end.
